Daniel A. Bochner, Ph.D. is author of the acclaimed book, The Therapist’s Use of Self in Family Therapy. His therapeutic approach applies a spontaneous and authentic interpersonal style to working in-depth in both brief and long-term treatments. Dr. Bochner has been a licensed psychologist since 1998. For the past ten years, he has been in private practice in Savannah, Georgia. Dr. Bochner has been working in the psychotherapy field since 1987 in community mental health centers, psychiatric facilities, private practice and in the U.S. Navy. In addition to providing individual (adult and child), couples, family, group treatment and psychological evaluations, Dr. Bochner is a clinical supervisor, and presents in the community on many topics related to family psychology and psychotherapy. As a member of the adjunct faculty at the Savannah Campus of the Georgia School of Professional Psychology, Dr. Bochner has taught Clinical Theory and Marriage and Family Therapy and has led Clinical Seminars. Dr. Bochner is currently working on a new book entitled, The Emotional Toolbox: 60 Topics, Insights, and Tools Commonly Discussed in Psychotherapy. Most of the essays attached to this site are excerpts from that upcoming book.
